from Gilead to Gomorrah?

Right after I sing praises of a quiet book about 3 generations of preachers set in the American MidWest, I get told this - that I'm closest to being a novel about "dandies, rich pretty boys...and decadent pleasure-seekers."

Ah, how J would like a dandy wardrobe! This much I know ;>

Which literature classic are you?

Oscar Wilde: The Portrait of Dorian Gray. You are a horror novel from the world of dandies, rich pretty boys, art and aesthetics, and intellectual debates between ethical people and decadent pleasure-seekers. You value beauty and pleasure but realize their dangers, as well.

hmm ... I've got the same book as well. And I don't even like it that much - don't hate it, but don't particularly associate with it either.

'Picture of Dorian Gray' -is my favorite book and film. But I got Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose.

"...mystery novel dealing with theology, especially with catholic vs liberal issues. You search wisdom and knowledge endlessly, feeling that learning is essential in life."

haha, I must say all the matches for the pple I know here seem quite apt so far... 1984 for 40C (considering how the rest of us live in S'pore, there's an appropriate irony how you are the only one with the Orwellian fears!)

But like wahj, I beg to differ on the Dorian Gray link...the hobbit that I am. And I pray J gets out of his depressed "The Wasteland" mode soon!!
